Ireland v Poland Match Report

Ireland vs Poland

6th February 2013

By Krystian

Ireland played Poland on Wednesday evening at the Aviva stadium in Dublin. Ireland won by 2 -0.

The Referee was from Belgium and his name was Sebastian Delferiere. The Polish captain was Robert Lewandowski. They played a eursong-esque dance song at the beginning of the match.

Ireland’s two goals came from Ciaran Clark and Wes Hoolahan.

Poland had a lot of support in the stadium and got off to a great start. Ludovic Obraniak nearly scored early on but his shot went wide.

Poland continued to play very well with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski playing his best.

Minutes after Ireland had taken the lead, Lewandowski looked to draw the Poles but failed to. Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny came on at half-time. It was an exciting game and it was a pity my native country lost to my new home. Either way I was a winner!
